Alaskan Hot Toddy

Hot Toddy, Hot Tea, Winter
Hot Toddy’s are a staple for our Alaskan winters. Luckily, winter is a lengthy season so there are plenty of opportunities to test new recipes. 😈

A season favorite this year is too good not to share. I’ve added some immunity benefits that add to the warming experience so we can feel good about our winter treat. Test it out with your favorite bourbon, or mine (@mflibations) , and let me know your thoughts!

Ingredients:

2 packets double spiced chai tea

1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresher the better)

1 tablespoon wild or raw honey

1 teaspoon ginger crystals (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)

Instructions:

1. Steep 2 packets of tea in 6 ounces of hot water for 3 minutes

2. Add lemon juice, honey, & ginger crystals

3. Add 3 ozs of bourbon to your mug & pour tea mixture over. Slowly stir

4. Enjoy!

Stay Warm,

Lee

  1. Hi Lee,

By this recipe, it seems like a tasteful drink to have, especially in cold winters. I have not tried anything like this before, so it would be fun to give it a go. It does not get so cold where I live, but still.

Does it go well only with bourbon or there are some alternative drinks you can mix it up with?

    1. Hey Dan! I’m a little jealous it doesn’t get cold where you live but I also love winter. It can be mixed with gin or even tequila if you’re feeling feisty. Hope you enjoy trying it!
