Truth for Hard Days

Ever feel like that loud negative voice in your head is taking over your life? Sometimes our brain keeps bringing up all the negative comments inside causing you to feel overwhelmed? On hard days, it is sometimes hard to shift into anything positive when it feels like everything is against us, including our thoughts.

Negative thoughts take up a lot of real estate in our minds. From everyday insecurities to phrases we’ve inherited from outside sources, these words have an impact on us. Sometimes the words live so deep inside our core that we believe them to be true. This leads to us living with fear of taking up our own truths because the negative messaging has lived inside us so long that it has controlled our actions, sometimes without us realizing the effect. How do we shift negative thoughts into positive mantras?

You’re never just one thing. You’re full of emotions. You’re full of positive and negative mantras. Sometimes we have to ignore the loudest thoughts to find the quiet ones that live in our own truth. Listen for the quiet voice, create positive mantras that reflect the truth of yourself, and TURN UP THE VOLUME on YOU.

Try one of these strategies the next time you’re down.

  • Turn on a song that describes how you feel & let the feelings wash over you.  Sitting in those hard places is how we turn the corner stronger & less heavy
  • Write it down.  When we put feelings on hard paper, it takes up less space inside us.  Keep a journal for hard days to hold the feelings you’re working through or letting go of.
  • Now pick a song that vibes how you want to feel & belt it out!  Dance in your car, or your home, & move your body in a way that brings life into the moment.

Keep going,

Keep your chin up,

Lee
